At its core, the Challenger ATR 7 features a generous stack height of soft, compression-molded EVA foam, providing the signature maximal cushioning Hoka is famous for. This plush midsole absorbs impact on hard surfaces and protects your feet from rocks and roots on the trail. Combined with our early-stage Meta-Rocker geometry, the shoe promotes a smooth, efficient rolling motion, making your stride feel effortless across any terrain.

We’ve redesigned the Challenger ATR 7 with a simplified engineered mesh upper, crafted from recycled yarns for a lighter, more breathable feel and a reduced environmental footprint. The extended heel pull offers easy entry, while the streamlined construction provides a secure and comfortable lockdown.

The true all-terrain capability comes from the re-engineered outsole. Inspired by gravel tires, we’ve packed smaller, tightly spaced lugs in the center and larger, more aggressive lugs at the perimeter. This zonal construction, featuring durable 4mm lugs, ensures a smooth ride on the road and confident, tenacious grip when you venture off it.
